本機能により、ディープフェイクや偽・誤情報の拡散リスクに対し、配信元が自社の音声コンテンツの真正性を国際標準「C2PA(Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity)」※2でより確実に証明できる環境を提供します。
01 — Integration & Operation
SIGNED SOUND
02 — Acoustic Identification
03 — Trust Service

Shachihata, Evixar, and Cybertrust Japan Implement
C2PA Signer Verification in “SIGNED SOUND”
Verify original-content matches and confirm who signed — and when —
even after the audio has been distributed or broadcast.
Shachihata Inc. (Nagoya, Nishi-ku; President: Masayoshi Funahashi), Evixar Inc. (Tokyo, Chuo-ku; President & CEO: Atsushi Takigawa), and Cybertrust Japan Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Minato-ku; President: Yuji Kitamura) jointly announce that Shachihata’s content provenance verification service “SIGNED SOUND”*1 now implements a mechanism to verify who signed distributed audio content, and when.

The new functionality gives content owners a robust way to prove the authenticity of their audio content against the risks of deepfakes and disinformation, based on the international standard C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity)*2.
SIGNED SOUND combines Evixar’s acoustic identification technology for “C2PA soft binding”*3 with Cybertrust’s digital certificate “iTrust C2PA Certificate”*4, enabling content owners to leave a provenance “mark” on their official audio content so that viewers and downstream distributors can always cross-reference it against the registered original. The recorded provenance information — who signed the content, when it was signed, and how it corresponds to the original — becomes the foundation for delivering official content with confidence. Using Evixar’s acoustic watermarking and acoustic fingerprinting, the original can be re-associated and looked up from distributed content itself (this is C2PA soft binding). Provenance records include the signing organization and signing timestamp, and their authenticity can be verified through Cybertrust’s digital certificate and timestamp.
SIGNED SOUND verifies only the matching result against the registered original and the recorded provenance information. Neither C2PA signatures nor timestamps guarantee the factual truth of content, the sender’s authority, or any legal authenticity.
Background
As generative AI proliferates, the misuse of deepfakes and the spread of disinformation have become serious social issues. Official announcements from local governments, footage from news organizations, and PR/IR content from businesses are all exposed to the risk of being circulated as manipulated versions — excerpted, reordered, or spliced with synthetic voices.
In response, adoption of the international C2PA standard for verifying content origin and history has been accelerating. However, in conventional implementations, provenance information (C2PA manifests) travels attached to the file itself, and can be stripped away when content is re-uploaded to social media or converted. To address this, C2PA defines “soft binding” as a standard mechanism to look up provenance from the content itself. SIGNED SOUND implements soft binding using Evixar’s acoustic identification technology, and further allows the signing party of the recorded provenance to be verified through Cybertrust’s digital certificate.
The Role of Each Company in C2PA Signing
01 — Integration & Operation
Shachihata
Integration and operation as SIGNED SOUND
Shachihata integrates the above into the content provenance verification service “SIGNED SOUND” and serves as the issuing authority for provenance certificates and the platform operator. Content owners can attach provenance to content prior to distribution and cross-reference against registered originals after distribution.
02 — Acoustic Identification
Evixar
Acoustic identification technology for soft binding
Evixar’s acoustic identification technology embeds imperceptible watermarks into the audio tracks of video and audio content, and extracts acoustic feature points (acoustic fingerprints). These algorithms are registered on the official C2PA Soft Binding Algorithm List*5, and are designed to remain detectable after re-encoding, broadcasting, or airborne transmission (speaker-to-microphone) — though detection is not guaranteed under all processing conditions.
03 — Trust Service
Cybertrust Japan
Trust services for provenance information reliability
Cybertrust Japan joined C2PA in February 2024 and provides trust services for verifying the origin and provenance of digital content. In SIGNED SOUND, its “iTrust C2PA Certificate” is used together with timestamps so that the organization and time of provenance issuance can be reliably confirmed. Cybertrust brings over 25 years of experience in digital authentication services to bear on the reliability of content provenance.
C2PA Soft Binding and the Signing Party
C2PA offers two ways to bind provenance information to content: hard binding, which embeds provenance directly into the file, and soft binding, which looks up provenance from the content’s features. SIGNED SOUND uses Evixar’s acoustic watermarking and acoustic fingerprinting — both registered on the Soft Binding Algorithm List — so that provenance can still be looked up from the audio even after the manifest has been separated from the content.
SIGNED SOUND’s provenance is structured in three layers — acoustic watermarking, acoustic fingerprinting, and C2PA signing (the first two forming the acoustic identification layer). Cybertrust’s “iTrust C2PA Certificate” serves as the signing layer.
Looking Ahead
The three companies will work to bring this C2PA-signature-based provenance verification mechanism to local governments, news organizations, and corporate PR/IR content owners, contributing to the deterrence of disinformation and to the trustworthiness of digital content. API and SDK offerings are also under consideration to enable external developers and partners to integrate the mechanism into their own services.

- About C2PA: The “Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity” is an international industry consortium developing technical standards to make the origin and authenticity of digital content verifiable. It cryptographically attaches credential information such as creator, editing history, and use of generative AI to enable verification of tampering and reliability. https://c2pa.org/
- This service uses Evixar’s acoustic identification algorithms registered on the official C2PA Soft Binding Algorithm List (identifiers: com.evixar.eaw.1 [entry 37] / com.evixar.efp.type3.1 [entry 38]). This registration is at the algorithm level; it does not indicate that SIGNED SOUND is listed on the C2PA Conformance list of compliant products or has obtained any “C2PA-compliant product” certification. What this service provides is reference information on content provenance and authenticity; it does not automatically give rise to a presumption of authenticity under Japan’s Electronic Signatures Law, nor does it guarantee legal effect equivalent to that of a certified timestamp.
